Existing Digital Literacy Workshops offer one-on-one or small group support to adults who need to update their knowledge on new digital devices and software. We are curating a list of digital resources that aim to enhance digital literacy in Canada.

AlphaPlus

Ontario’s only organization focussed on helping adult literacy education professionals to incorporate digital technology. We believe that through the use of digital technology in our sector, we can build capacity, create equity and access to learning, and enhance learning experiences. We work as a leader and guide, sharing knowledge and directly helping literacy educators and administrators to integrate technology in innovative ways that increase effectiveness and reach.

Connected Canadians

Connected Canadians is a non-profit with a mandate to reduce isolation and loneliness amongst older adults by promoting digital literacy skills and providing technology training and support. Their goal is to empower people to use technology safely and effectively, to engage with loved ones and enhance quality of life. Cyber Seniors: Connecting Generations

Parkdale Project Read

Project Read supports adults by providing free literacy services in a supportive community. They work with English-speaking adults who want to learn to read, write, or use basic math or computer skills. In collaboration with a host of community organizations and partners, Parkdale Project Read offers free programs and services including: Financial Literacy, Legal Education, Computer Literacy, Health & Wellness, Driver’s Education, and Election Literacy.

Virtual Gay Straight Alliances in Action

The GSA network launched 'Virtual GSAs in Action: Digital Organizing Toolkit. It was inspired by trans and queer youth activists, GSA club advisors, educators, and grassroots organizations in the US. This resource is a useful tool for strengthening community ties during the global pandemic.
